After waiting half an hour at another restaurant with no joy (not even a menu - we were stupid for waiting so long!), we came here. Very friendly, very quick service. Delicious food and brilliant value. So glad we came and would go back in a heart beat.

We ordered a plain tarte flambée; there was only half the topping and it was half-cooked, no problem bringing it back to the table

On a friend's recommendation, we chose Brasserie des Tanneurs to try Alsatian specialties. The sauerkraut and ham hock were very good (at least to our knowledge of them 😅). Alsatians have hearty appetites, so the portions were very generous 😅. Just one small issue at the beginning that almost made us leave: the terrace is quite far from the restaurant, so I went to the entrance to introduce myself with my children. We were practically standing in front of the open door, trying to catch someone's eye. We even politely moved aside to let five servers pass as they were leaving, but none of them acknowledged us with a glance or a greeting. I finally managed to ask if we should or could find a table on the terrace ourselves... I know they each have their "duties," but still, it's an establishment that welcomes customers; the least they could do is say hello. Especially since a family just before us had been kindly shown to their table. However, once we were seated, the waitress who took care of us was lovely.

Typical Alsatian dishes. Recommended

Nice establishment, clean, good food. Smiling and polite servers, but some lack organization and one was borderline insolent. The order was complicated; the server, sluggish and unsure of himself, didn't know the menu, and we were missing a drink. For the meal, he then took the time to rephrase the order and made sure our son received fries instead of new potatoes. Between the aperitif and the main course, we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes. I asked about our order, and I was told it had just been placed. A sluggish waitress then immediately gave us the drinks for the meal and asked for desserts, even though we hadn't received our food yet. We pointed this out to her, and she rolled her eyes, staring at the ceiling. Another, much more energetic and smiling server brought our food. A mixed experience…

Drawn in by a pretty, shaded terrace and a collection of Petit Futé (a French travel guide) signs on the restaurant's facade, we settled in... Despite arriving at the beginning of service (11:40 am), we waited fifteen minutes for two small glasses of white wine and a diabolo (a type of lemonade) as an aperitif... then over half an hour for three flammekueches served practically cold... We weren't asked if we wanted anything to drink with our meal; no carafe of water either... When we expressed our disappointment to the waiter, not a word of sympathy... let alone an apology... The bill was a disaster!

There were a lot of locals there, and while the food was tasty, it felt a bit greasier than Parisian food, so I couldn't finish it all. However, the atmosphere was nice, and it is worth visiting at least once.

I don’t know how this restaurant got more than 4 stars. This sets the bar really low and makes me wonder if this is the standard good restaurant in Colmar. The food is tasteless - like even missing salt kind of tasteless! The fish was below average: one piece way overcooked while the other so undercooked that I could not eat it as there was slimy puss coming out of it. The horseradish sauce and the sauerkraut were the only things which were ok on the plate (sauerkraut was like the one you can buy in any supermarket - so good but not great) Service was good and this is why I gave 2* instead of 1*. Maybe we should not have eaten in the turistic spot of Colmar.

Really do not recommend this restaurant. Terrible service with countless mistakes in the order. We do not get the drink we ordered, we get the wrong dish and we are charged the wrong amount when paying. It seems like it is the first time they have served a table in their life. The food was not good either, here it is profit and not the food that is in focus. Do not go here!

Very good, it was tasty, served relatively quickly, and we had a good table on the terrace. Good Alsatian falmekueche.

The tarte flambée with Munster cheese was decent, but I needed to charge my phone and they flatly refused! It's the first time I've encountered a refusal imposed by management, I was told. The other restaurants nearby are much more welcoming. What a shame...

A good restaurant in a tourist area of Colmar. It's very pleasant to eat in the square! Plenty of servers are on hand to ensure efficient service. We had tarte flambée, which was delicious.

We sat outside. The tarte flambée was good, but unfortunately, the accompanying salad was missing. The spaetzle and the fish dish that the rest of the family ordered were very good. The service seemed a bit stressed due to the large number of customers.
