Le 5S

A wonderful discovery! We were delighted with our meals, from the appetizers to the desserts. The food is delicious, the service is warm and attentive, and I particularly appreciated the vegan options, which are still quite rare in this area. This is a place that manages to please everyone. I highly recommend it and will definitely return!

A truly wonderful discovery! The Alsatian half-timbered building creates a very warm atmosphere. The fusion of Japanese and Alsatian influences is a success. Fresh, seasonal produce is showcased and expertly prepared without overpowering the other flavors. They also offer a welcome infusion and some unusual amuse-bouches. The service is both relaxed and professional.

We had a highly frustrating experience at Le 5s. While the outdoor porch area was full, the inside of the restaurant was completely empty. Despite this, we were seated right next to the bathroom in an uncomfortably hot, stuffy indoor dining room and largely ignored. To be fair, the food that we actually managed to eat—aside from the mains—was not bad at all; the starters tasted good. However, the service completely ruined the evening. The waiter didn't write down our order, and predictably, our starters arrived with mistakes and less food than we ordered. Despite pointing this out, the missing food never arrived. Meanwhile, the waiters went outside to smoke multiple times. At one point, our child found some child-friendly training chopsticks to play with, and the staff took the entire jar from the chopatick table, despite there being no other kids inside. We arrived at 19:40, got starters around 20:10, and our main dishes didn't arrive until 20:50. We ordered three duck dishes, and all of them arrived cold. Because of the cooking level combined with being cold, they were completely inedible. When I called over the waiter with the ponytail, he was shocked. He took the plates away, only to return moments later to disrespectfully tell us that the food "wasn't cold to him." When I told him we didn't want anything else because we had already waited over an hour, he got angry and snapped that it took an hour "because there were starters." We received zero apology and no compensation. To top it off, they got the bill wrong and charged us for the starter we never received. The kitchen has potential, but the disrespectful service, terrible timing, and cold mains made this a awful night out.

Great cost restaurant for date night. Very friendly staff serving Japanese food. They offered us a small cold homemade tea followed by a very small bit of gazpacho. Food does take a while so only come here with people you want to hang out with. I would come back. The food is good but nothing special.

Very good Asian food with French influence

The best restaurateur in the world is Japanese, and she works in Colmar!

From the food to the service, everything was impeccable. Thank you to Loïc and Charles. A little tip that doesn't cost anything: I highly recommend checking out their wine cellar. (The prices are much more affordable than most other restaurants).
